Zum Stück

Ever since its premiere in 2003, "Heiße Ecke – the St. Pauli Musical", delighted more than 750.000 people and is currently the most successful German-language music theater production. In September 2009, the Hamburg Schmidt’s Tivoli raised its curtain for the 1.500th performance, and there is no end in sight for “Hamburg’s best musical”! (Hamburg Morgenpost).

Every evening 9 actors and actresses appear on stage in more than 50 roles and costumes and offer a fast-paced show including 22 magnificent and catchy tunes by Martin Lingnau ("Der Schuh des Manitu"). The entire wealth of the world is celebrated on stage - ranging from overwhelming emotions to simply enjoying life. The audience and the critics agree: this musical is fabulous!

THE STORY:
The legendary hot-dog stand “Heiße Ecke” (hot corner) is the central venue in St. Pauli. Mikie, Frankie and Pitter, the guys from the countryside, the married couple Straube, the dealer Henning, as well as Hannelore on night shift and the prostitutes Nadja, Sylvie and Martina: “Heiße Ecke” is their market place, for one day or for their entire life. Here they fall into each other’s arms - or stab each other’s backs. Here they get their hot dog plus a perky saying to top it off. Here hedonists come upon losers and normal people come upon their fate. St. Pauli in three hours – something everyone will enjoy!
