Martin Maier-Bode


was born in 1966 and is an author and cabaret artist. Maier-Bode writes for numerous cabaret ensembles, among others for the “Kom(m)ödchen” in Düsseldorf, where he was the main playwright from 1996-2002, “Die Distel” in Berlin, “Herkuleskeule” in Dresden, “Pfeffermühle” in Leipzig, and the “Renitenztheater” in Stuttgart.

He also writes for numerous solo cabaret artists. In addition to the diverse TV-cabaret and comedy series, he also regularly writes for the German children’s TV channel, for example for the “Captain Bluebear” program on WDR. From 2003 until 2005 he was the leading writer for “Sesame Street” on NDR.

Maier-Bode is also the author of numerous plays, children’s plays and musicals for different theatres, among others for the Friedrichstadt Palace Theatre Berlin. Furthermore, he is the stage director for diverse theatre productions and cabaret artists working throughout Germany, e.g. for the cabaret “Die Distel” in Berlin.
